If you’re a soca music fan, you’re probably listening to Commish Radio everyday at noon EST to check out the latest music. If you live in the NYC area, you probably heard of an event called Post Carnival Depression (P.C.D.). If you haven’t heard of it, let me break it down for you.
I just came back from Trinidad Carnival. As a DJ, I’ve been apart of P.C.D. in the past but never understood why the energy at this particular event is much higher than any other event that I’ve seen. After being in Trinidad for almost a week during Carnival and going to various parties, I understand now. Carnival is such a high energy, euphoric and peaceful musical event that it creates a feeling that you can’t let go of. Thus the event being names P.C.D. is accurate. When you go home, you are depressed. I’m going through it now.
If you’re a soca music fan, this is a must attend event. Click on the ticket link for info on the artist and DJ lineup.

With less than six weeks to go before Trinidad Carnival 2017, soca music artists are releasing new music at a fever pitch. For scan fans, this is an extremely exciting time of the year as the songs that are being released now will set the tone for Carnival season. A few hours ago, I got an e-mail with another new track. This one comes from the self proclaimed “Queen of Bacchanal”, Destra Garcia.
In this fast paced, high energy track, she’s talking about comparing herself to her alter ego, who she created last year, Lucy. Check it out and let us know what you think. Also, be sure to log into CommishRadio.com for the hottest new soca music everyday at Noon EST as well as catching DJ Shug Soca Session every Wednesday afternoon at 2pm EST.
