Our friends at I Don’t Do Clubs recently celebrated their 2 Year Anniversary of Must Love Beards. For those of you who don’t know, this is an event for trendy professionals who are in the 21 -35 age group to celebrate men with beards and women who can’t get enough of them. It originally started in NYC as an idea amongst friends that quickly took off and became an international phenomenon that has made stops in cities like Chicago, Atlanta, L.A. Toronto, Houston and more.
For the 2 year Anniversary edition, Commish Radio’s own DJ Commish rocked the Caribbean and Afrobeats room while DJ King Iven rocked the Traphouse at Stage 48 in NYC Sunday, Jan. 29th. Over 2,000 people came out to celebrate, mingle and rock out to its “Bad & Boujee” theme. Check out images from the event and the video.

I can safely say that 2017 is officially underway on the hip-hop side of things. Earlier today, I got an e-mail from Def Jam that contained the new release from the much anticipated collaboration album of Jadakiss and Fabolous. The “Freddy Vs. Jason” album was suppose to be released late last summer but rumor has it that studio time scheduling was an issue due to Fabolous releasing his Summertime Shootout 2 mixtape and Jadakiss working on and releasing the latest Lox album “Filthy America: It’s Beautiful”.
This new track features Tory Lanez and it samples the 1981 Classic from Blondie “Rapture”. This was just added to the radio today. Let us know what you think. Feel free to comment below. If you want to hear it on Commish Radio, feel free to request it using the free Commish Radio App.

It’s Fashion Week in NYC so yesterday, Kanye West did his Season 4 Fashion Show. I personally don’t care to discuss it because I’m not a fashion guru so I will leave that subject alone. What I will let you know is there was a G.O.O.D. Music pop-up show after the fashion show last night. That was held at Highline Ballroom. There was quite a few performances which included Migos, Pharrell, Pusha T, Swizz Beatz, Teyana Taylor and Desiigner. The CEO also made a surprise visit last night. Yeezy grabbed the mic to let the frenzy crowd know that the G.O.O.D. Music family just got a little bigger. Tyga, who is currently dating his sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner, is now the newest member of Kanye’s label.
Earlier today, Tyga made sure that this news wasn’t just a rumor on the street by dropping a new song with his new label mate, Desiigner. Check out “Gucci Snakes”.
In addition to the Tyga acquisition, G.O.O.D. Music president, Pusha T also announced that Migos is now apart of the roster but on the management side of things. The group is still signed to Quality Conrtol and 300 Ent. doing their distribution.
