The internet streets are buzzing this afternoon. Today, it’s all about CyHi The Prynce. The Stone Mountain, Georgia native was in NYC earlier this morning to stop by Sway in the Morning on Sirius/XM radio to drop of his new single/freestyle called Legend.

The lyrically intellectual track has an sample in it that gives it a soulful feel to it but it is still very much hip-hop. It kind of takes the listener back to the golden era of 90’s hip-hop. This is just the first single of his debut full length album on his new label Brooklyn Knights/RAL called No Dope On Sunday.

Prior to today’s announcement, CyHi The Prynce rose to fame by becoming one of Kanye West’s key collaborators. He was featured on Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album in 2010, Yeezus as well as G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer album in 2012. He also dropped a series of mixtapes such as 2014’s Black Hystori Project and 2015’s Black Hystori Project 2: N.A.A.C.P. both executive produced by Kanye West.

Check out the new single and request it on Commish Radio using the app. Also, look out for CyHi The Prynce this spring as he will be the opening act for Lil Wayne’s upcoming college tour. The dates so far are:

One of my biggest complaints as a DJ and a blogger is that there is so much music out there that it’s sometimes difficult to keep up. I felt like this today when I got an e-mail from Interscope about the new single from Boogie. I’ll admit, my first reaction was “who?”

I decided to do some quick research and found out that this Compton born MC not only dropped his mix-tape back in October (Thirst 48 Part. II), but this is his 2nd release of his career. That in itself, made me feel crazy. Then, I decided to check out the video and track. I was definitely missing out on this guy. Let me know what you think. Feel free to comment below. Also, you can request this song on Commish Radio but using the request feature on the free Commish Radio app.

New Music: Kyah Baby – In The Trap

If you’re from the NYC area and keep your ear to the streets, then you’ve probably heard of Kyah Baby. Yes, we all know about Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma and most recently Young M.A. but to be honest, the hardest working NYC based female MC in the game is this Southside Jamaica, Queens native.

Since DJ Self introduced her to the world on the 2010 “The Rough Draft” mix-tape, Kyah has be dropping singles and mix-tapes. Now in 2017, she’s looking to start of the year with some new heat. “In The Trap” is her latest single from her upcoming project. This track features new artists G-Lloyd and Eli Grooves. It has an throwback feel with a sample of the 1987 classic from Keith Sweat “Make It Last Forever”. I’m predicting that this will be a gone one for her.

Check it out and let me know your thoughts below. Feel free to request this track using the free Commish Radio app.

I can safely say that 2017 is officially underway on the hip-hop side of things. Earlier today, I got an e-mail from Def Jam that contained the new release from the much anticipated collaboration album of Jadakiss and Fabolous. The “Freddy Vs. Jason” album was suppose to be released late last summer but rumor has it that studio time scheduling was an issue due to Fabolous releasing his Summertime Shootout 2 mixtape and Jadakiss working on and releasing the latest Lox album “Filthy America: It’s Beautiful”.

This new track features Tory Lanez and it samples the 1981 Classic from Blondie “Rapture”. This was just added to the radio today. Let us know what you think. Feel free to comment below. If you want to hear it on Commish Radio, feel free to request it using the free Commish Radio App.

New Music: August Alsina – Drugs

Yesterday, I got an e-mail from my homie at Def Jam. I opened it and saw a new track from August Alsina called “Drugs”. I thought it was an interesting title so I downloaded it and let it play. In my honest opinion, this song is properly titled. Look for this to be that new red-eye, late night, after the club to the hotel or Netflix and chill track that will set the tone for things to come.

You can look for this on a nightly basis when the station is rocking the latest R&B vibes or at anytime throughout the day. I have a feel this is gonna be a good track for August Alsina.
