If you’re a soca music fan, you’re probably listening to Commish Radio everyday at noon EST to check out the latest music. If you live in the NYC area, you probably heard of an event called Post Carnival Depression (P.C.D.). If you haven’t heard of it, let me break it down for you.
I just came back from Trinidad Carnival. As a DJ, I’ve been apart of P.C.D. in the past but never understood why the energy at this particular event is much higher than any other event that I’ve seen. After being in Trinidad for almost a week during Carnival and going to various parties, I understand now. Carnival is such a high energy, euphoric and peaceful musical event that it creates a feeling that you can’t let go of. Thus the event being names P.C.D. is accurate. When you go home, you are depressed. I’m going through it now.
If you’re a soca music fan, this is a must attend event. Click on the ticket link for info on the artist and DJ lineup.

The internet streets are buzzing this afternoon. Today, it’s all about CyHi The Prynce. The Stone Mountain, Georgia native was in NYC earlier this morning to stop by Sway in the Morning on Sirius/XM radio to drop of his new single/freestyle called Legend.
The lyrically intellectual track has an sample in it that gives it a soulful feel to it but it is still very much hip-hop. It kind of takes the listener back to the golden era of 90’s hip-hop. This is just the first single of his debut full length album on his new label Brooklyn Knights/RAL called No Dope On Sunday.
Prior to today’s announcement, CyHi The Prynce rose to fame by becoming one of Kanye West’s key collaborators. He was featured on Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album in 2010, Yeezus as well as G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer album in 2012. He also dropped a series of mixtapes such as 2014’s Black Hystori Project and 2015’s Black Hystori Project 2: N.A.A.C.P. both executive produced by Kanye West.
Check out the new single and request it on Commish Radio using the app. Also, look out for CyHi The Prynce this spring as he will be the opening act for Lil Wayne’s upcoming college tour. The dates so far are:
