Tinashe Cancels World Tour

Blog News, Musician / Bands, Uncategorized, Upcoming Events 07 Apr 16 0

It’s been more than seven months since Tinashe announced her sophomore album, Joyride. Yet despite kicking off a world tour and releasing a string of new tunes since then, Joyride is still stuck in release limbo.

That’s why the 23-year-old announced Tuesday night that she’s canceled the rest of her Joyride tour in an effort to finish the long-awaited LP.

“It is with a heavy heart that I come with the news that due to unexpected recording commitments I need to postpone my upcoming international tour,” she wrote in a message to fans on Facebook. “Originally, I had planned this tour in support of Joyride, and as you know, the album has yet to be released.

“I know there has been some confusion in regards to my album’s release date,” she continued. “Trust me, I am as eager to get it out to you as you are to hear it. I will be wrapping up the finishing touches on Joyride by the end of May, and will be back on the road shortly thereafter to see all of you.”

Tinashe’s Joyride tour was scheduled to begin its European leg later this month before hitting Australia in May. Instead, it’ll culminate after 28 shows on April 10 in Vancouver. And while many fans will understandably be disappointed by the change in plans, at least we’re all one step closer to finally hearing Joyride in all its hyped-up glory.

Blog News, Musician / Bands, Uncategorized 16 Mar 16 0

Move over Stacey Dash.

Reclusive rap star Foxy Brown said Tuesday that she is back in the studio, but her next release could be a tribute to Donald Trump.

Brown, a lifelong Democrat, who said she loves Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, said she is giving a big shout out to the billionaire presidential frontrunner because she is impressed with his ability to get things done.

“No matter how many people sabotage his campaign, it keeps growing and growing and growing,” Brown told The News.

“I know so many people won’t agree with me and will try to change my mind, but I’m a smart girl. I’m excited…I haven’t been this excited in so long.

“I know people say he’s a racist, but that’s just crazy.”

Brown, 37, didn’t detail the extent of her support, but said she would be doing “a lot” for Trump in the coming months.

Earlier, Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, received a key to the city from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams recognizing her as one of the “Leaders of Tomorrow.”

Adams was unavailable for comment on whether or not he wants his key back.

International superstar Rihanna has added another honor to her musical résumé. The Roc Nation songstress is the only artist in history to score a #1 song on seven straight studio albums.

Rihanna earned the distinction when her latest single “Work” topped the Hot 100 chart. The Drake-assisted record off Anti joins “SOS” from A Girl Like Me, “Umbrella,” “Take a Bow,” & “Disturbia” from Good Girl Gone Bad, “Rude Boy” from Rated R, “What’s My Name?,” “Only Girl (In the World),” & “S&M” from Loud, “We Found Love” from Talk That Talk, and “Diamonds” from Unapologetic.

“Work” also helped Rihanna pass Michael Jackson for the third-most Hot 100 #1’s all-time and tie for fifth place on the list of most Top 10 singles in history. Her 14 career #1 singles also include feature appearances on T.I.’s “Live Your Life” as well as Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie” and “The Monster.”
