NEW VIDEO: HUSTLE GANG – FRIENDS

by DJ Commish

I just got this song earlier today and immediately added it to the station. After hearing the song on the radio, I thought to myself “This song is dope!”. I’m not familiar with Brandon Rossi, RaRa and Tokyo Jetz but they do more than hold their own w/ T.I., Trae Tha Truth, Young Dro and Drake. This is overall a good record. I grew up listening to 90’s hip-hop. For this generation, this song is a “posse cut”.

With that said, I got an e-mail tonight with the video link. Therefore, you know what I had to do! Let me know your thoughts on the song. Feel free to request it on the free Commish Radio app.

NEW MIXTAPE – GUTTA MILLZ – L.F.T.D. 5

by DJ Commish

Being a DJ that’s from The Bronx in NYC, I get to meet and interact with a lot of dope artists.  There’s plenty to choose from in hip-hop but one of the most underrated artists out there than Harlem’s own, Gutta Millz.

His 5 project “Live From The Duece 5” is the fifth mix-tape release from Gutta Millz. It’s been a little more than a year since his last project but his level of consistency is prevalent on this project. That NYC sound of being lyrical and flowing on gritty east coast style hip-hop tracks is the formula here. The 11 tracks on this project is great driving music if you’re about street hip-hop life. The features on this project come people like Ron Browz, Sho Money, Cafcaptain, and the late Chinx. Check it out and let us know your thoughts. Also, check out Guttz Millz previous 4 mixtapes by searching for him on Datpiff.

DJ Khaled is “Grateful”

Blog News, Hot Albums, Musician / Bands, Uncategorized 23 Jun 17 0

by DJ Commish

I woke up this morning and realized that today is the day that DJ Khaled released his new album “Grateful”. Before the Epic Records project was released, it grabbed a #1 single spot with “I’m The One” Feat. Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Chance The Rapper and Quavo. Before people can digest this album, it might get another #1 spot with “Wild Thoughts” Feat. Rihanna and Bryson Tiller.

“Grateful” is a star studded compilation featuring artists like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Calvin Harris, Nas, Drake, Future, Migos, Sizzla, Mavado and much more. It has music for a wide range of people.  Trap music heads can check out tracks like “Pull A Caper” and “That Range Rover Came With Steps” while hip-hop purist can check out “Good Man”, “It’s Secured” and “Billy Ocean”. To me, it seems like Khaled is talking more than usual on this project and with good reason. As a new father, Khaled is splitting the Executive Producer claim with his son, Asahd on this project. He dedicated a song to him called “I Love You So Much”.

Overall, this is another good body of work for the summer for DJ Khaled. Check it out and let me know your thoughts.

New Music: Dej Loaf – No Fear

Blog News, Musician / Bands 20 Jun 17 0

by DJ Commish

It looks like Dej Loaf is gearing up for her 1st full length album release on Columbia Records. Her 1st single of the soon to be released “Liberated” album,  “No Fear” dropped on her Soundcloud page over the weekend and is gaining some serious buzz. The Detroit native has managed to keep busy since her 2014 hit “Try Me” off of her mixtape “Sell Sole”. A few projects and tours later, she seems to be growing as an artist with s refined sound. This new track is something that we haven’t quite heard from her before and as a DJ, I think it’s dope! I can see this becoming a very big record for her. But then again, that is up to you the listener. Check this out and let us know what you think. If you like the track, feel free to request it by using the free Commish Radio app available now at The App Store and Google Play.

Big Boi Releases 3rd Solo Album

Awesome Gallery, Blog News, Hot Albums, Musician / Bands 19 Jun 17 0

by DJ Commish

I’m currently listening to the brand new solo album from Big Boi of Outkast. “Boomiverse” is the 1st solo project from Big Boi since the release of his 2012 solo album “Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors”. Since then, he teamed with rock band Phantogram and released an album called “Big Grams” in 2015.

As a fan of Outkast, I know that I can expect Big Boi to push the musical boundaries as far as he can. He doesn’t disappoint on “Boomiverse”. The sound is futuristic but crisp, clean and definitely south with tracks by producers like Dr. Luke, Scott Storch, Mannie Fresh and the trusty Organized Noize. He called on friends like Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Janelle Monae and more to add their vocal presence to the project. The lead single “Kill Jill” featuring Jeezy and Killer Mike is currently playing on Commish Radio. Feel free to check out the album, let us know what you think and request the single using the free Commish Radio app available now at The App Store and Google Play.
